I strongly doubt the 'mission' etymology; Rottland (1982) links a related term 'Kamasia' (according to him used as a toponym for the lands of the Tugen) to the Pökoot term /kamâ:s/ 'cool highlands'. — mark✎ 09:13, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)
