K.A. Ajit-Simh

K.A. Ajit-Simh (born December 4th, 1952) is currently the Vice President of Quality Systems at Arena Pharmaceuticals. In addition he teaches courses in GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and Quality Control and Assurance at SDSU (San Diego State University) and UCSD (University of San Diego California).

Ajit-Simh grew up in Bangalore, India and received his B.Sc. degree in Biology and Chemistry from Bangalore University. Later on, when in the United States, Ajit Simh received a M.S. in Cell Biology from St. Louis University.

Ajit Simh held many different positions with greater and greater responsibility at Mallinckrodt Inc. from 1975 to 1985, Baxter Healthcare from 1986 to 1989, Abbott Bio Tech from 1989 to 1992, Cytel Corporation from 1992 to 1999, and Arena Pharmaceuticals from 2004 - Present. In the years between 1999 and 2004 Ajit-Simh was consulting for various companies.

Ajit-Simh is currently writing a book on Regulatory Compliance for Biologics and Drugs. This hardcover book has not yet set a release date, but is being published by John Wiley & Sons Inc. The book is set to be 608 pages.
