K.A.S. is accronym for Karnataka Administrative Service. Persons who are selected in these service do administration of state. It is equivalent to IAS of central (Union) government of India. Candidates are selected by written examination followed by group discussion and personal interview. The candidates selected are generally known as Gazatted officers. These officers hold important posts in administration of Karnataka state. They can be said as law making and implementing persons. Normally posts held by these officers wield tremendous power.
