K. Raghunath was a Foreign Secretary for India in 1997[1] and her ambassador to Russia in 2001.[2]

He graduated from the prestigious Madras Christian College.K. Raghunath went to school at La Martiniere Boys' College[3] in Lucknow, India.
He joined the Indian Foreign service in 1962.[2] He married, Sunny, in 1975.
He became Foreign Secretary on July 1st 1997 when he took over from Salman Haidar.[1]
In 2001 he became the Indian ambassador to Russia, taking over from Mr S.K. Lambah.[2]
