K'Ehleyr is a character in the fictional universe of Star Trek. She is half-Klingon and half-Human, and was played by actress Suzie Plakson.

[edit] Overview

When the Klingon "sleeper ship" (a ship with a crew in suspended animation) T'Ong was being returned to Klingon space in 2365, K'Ehleyr was the supervising emissary on the mission to prevent a possible incident involving the Klingons onboard the T'Ong, who thought the Klingon Empire was still at war with the Federation ("The Emissary"). K'Ehleyr and Worf had previously been romantically involved, and when she came onto the USS Enterprise-D the two reconciled and became intimate during one of Worf's calisthenic holodeck programs; Worf told K'Ehleyr they were now mated, but she refused saying it was a Klingon tradition she wanted no part of.

After the successful aversion of an incident with the revived crew of the T'Ong, K'Ehleyr took command of the Klingon ship. At an unknown time after that, K'Ehleyr became a Federation ambassador to the Klingons, and it was in this capacity that she came aboard the Enterprise again in 2367 to advise Captain Picard on the Klingon rite of ascension ("Reunion") after Picard was asked to mediate the selection of the next chancellor. She shocked Worf by bringing their son Alexander, who was conceived during their brief sexual relationship during the 2366 visit. Worf was dismayed to find that K'Ehleyr had taught Alexander little of Klingon ways. She defended herself by saying that Alexander should be able to learn and decide for himself whether to live by his Klingon or Human heritage. K'Ehleyr offered to take the oath of marriage with Worf, but he refused in order to spare Alexander his family's dishonor ("Sins of the Father").

After an explosion during the Klingon rite of ascension, K'Ehleyr became suspicious that Duras was in league with the Romulans, as his father had before. When investigating for evidence about the Khitomer incident, Duras was notified of her searching and sneaked into her quarters and confronted her. Upon telling Duras that she believes it was Duras' father who was the traitor for helping the Romulans and that the bomb on the Klingon ship was Romulan-based, Duras murdered her. Claiming right of vengeance as her mate, Worf boarded the Klingon ship, battled with Duras, and won revenge with Duras' death.
