K-Salaam

K-Salaam, born Kayvon Sarfehjooy in 1979, is a DJ from Minneapolis of Iranian-American heritage.[1] His first album, The World Is Ours, was released on August 25, 2006.[1] Featuring on this release are a number of prolific underground hip hop artists, such as Mos Def, Dead Prez, Papoose, Saigon, and Talib Kweli, and reggae artists Capleton, Sizzla, and Anthony B.[2][3] The music fuses several styles, including reggae and hip hop, and incorporates socially conscious themes.[3] The DJ has also partnered with the clothing brand Eckō.
