K-55 is a 13-mile east-west link between K-15 in Udall and US-81 11 miles north of Wellington. It passes through the town of Belle Plaine.
It's westbound terminus is a triangle-type intersection. Just before the western terminus, the road passes under the Kansas Turnpike, although there is no intersection. Turnpike access is available at K-53 to the north and US-160 to the south near Wellington.
[edit] History
K-55 appears on the 1932 Kansas Highway map, although it ended at an older alignment of K-15, just east of Udall.[2]
