Kōtoku Line
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Kōtoku Line (高徳線 Kōtoku-sen?) is one of the main railway lines of the Shikoku Railway Company (JR Shikoku) in Japan. It connects the prefectural capitals of Takamatsu in Kagawa Prefecture and Tokushima in Tokushima Prefecture on the island of Shikoku. Its route hugs the northeastern coast of the island. Its name includes one kanji from each of the terminals: 高 (kō, the taka of Takamatsu) and 徳 (toku from Tokushima).
The name of Sanuki Province, the province that preceded the modern prefecture of Kagawa, appears in the names of some stations on the line.
