Kōichirō Tomita

Koichiro Tomita (冨田弘一郎, February 16, 1925 - May 22, 2006) was a Japanese astronomer. His first name could also be read as Hiroichiro, but it is known to be "Koichiro".

He is a prolific discoverer of asteroids;2252 CERGA, 3056 INAG, 3765 Texereau, 4051 Hatanaka.

He is the author of at least one astronomy book (in Japanese) about comets (which translated and published in Russian in 1982).

Asteroid 2391 Tomita is named after him.
