Kō no Moronō (高師直 ?) (?-March 24, 1351) was a Japanese samurai of the late Kamakura period who was the first to hold the position of Shitsuji (Shogun's Deputy). He was appointed by Ashikaga Takauji, the first shogun of the Ashikaga shogunate. As Deputy, he served not only an administrative governmental function, but also as general of the Shogun's armies. He fought for the Ashikaga against the loyalist forces of the Southern Imperial Court during the wars of the Nanboku-chō period. Although he supported Ashikaga Takauji, he was opposed to Takauji's younger brother Tadayoshi. Moronao was avenged by Uesugi Yoshinori with his families in the Kanō Disturbance (観応の擾乱) on the 26th day of the 2nd month of Kanō 2 (1351).
Kō no Moroyasu (?-1351) is his brother.
Kō no Moronō is used to represent Kira Yoshinaka in the bunraku and kabuki play Kanadehon Chūshingura, which depicts the vendetta of the 47 Ronin.
