Kövérszőlő
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Kövérszőlő is indigenous to the Tokaj-Hegyalja wine region of Hungary but is also grown in Transylvania. The variety almost entirely disappeared from Tokaj after the phylloxera epidemic of the 19th century. Kövérszõlõ (Hungarian: fat grape) is characterized by its relatively large big berries. It is suitable for making aszú wines because of its susceptibility to botrytisation and its high sugar content.
