K&P Rail Trail
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The K&P Rail Trail is a multi-use recreational rail trail located in eastern Ontario.
It is a 40 kilometre route between Sharbot Lake, Ontario and Renfrew, Ontario using an abandoned rail corridor that had been constructed for the Kingston and Pembroke Railway (K&P). The K&P line was abandoned by its owner Canadian Pacific Railway during the 1980s.
The trail runs through the southernmost edge of the Canadian Shield and provides access to numerous lakes and scenic locations, passing through both Crown land and privately-owned land.
