[edit] language
What's his native language? Please provide his name in the script of his native language. Thanks. --Ragib 23:21, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Its actually probably Hindi, but his contributions were nearly all in Oxomiya.Bakaman Bakatalk 23:50, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- It is unlikely it was Hindi. His uncle was an Assamese writer too. And his ancestor had migrated into Assam in 1811 when Hindi was not at all pravalent. His family could have spoken the Marwari language, which again is unlikely. Chaipau 02:11, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] The hindu article
Its the only reliable source saying that Agarwala is the founder of Asamese cinema.Bakaman Bakatalk 01:08, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
- He is the founder of Assamese cinema because he produced and directed the first Assamese movie. You could refer to the IMDB record for Joymoti. The source you are citing is more appropriate for Assamese cinema. Chaipau 02:20, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Removing Agarwal Cat
I think it is ludicruous to try to categorize JPA as an Agarwal. He was a universal person and his ideals were universal too. He tried to bring people together (his message in Joymoti, for instance). He wrote in Assamese because he was born in Assam and he grew up among Assamese. He would have done the same thing anywhere else. Chaipau 02:47, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
