Jyotish Chandra De

Lieutenant Colonel Jyotish Chandra Dé, IMS (1885 – 1963) was a doctor in the Indian army, a senior civilian and an eminent practitioner of modern medicine.
After completing his studies in London, he joined the Indian Medical Service. As a doctor in the Maratha Light Infantry, he saw action in the Battle of Kut-el-Amara during the First World War. He was the Chief Medical Officer of Campbell Medical Hospital, Calcutta, and the second Indian Principal of Calcutta Medical College, Calcutta.
