Hello. I'm James W. Rosenzweig from Washington State, and have long been an admirer/user of Wikipedia...finally decided in June of 2003 to become a contributor. I'm enjoying myself immensely and hope to be of some service. My background is a bachelor's in History and English Lit, plenty of graduate education in history (especially 16th Century religious) and most recently a Master's in Education (emphasis on Social Studies and English), but basically I like reading anything I can get my hands on, so much of my knowledge is eclectic. If anyone's working on stuff having to do with European history (especially pre-1600 England), or most things in English literature, I'd love to be involved--if I don't know it, I like learning it. Thanks for dropping by.

I am a Christian; that is, I believe in the faith established in the New Testament and described in the Apostles' Creed and Nicene Creed. To those who may have had negative experiences with Christians in the past, I say this: my faith involves an all-encompassing personal commitment to treat all humanity with love, to deal honorably and charitably with all I come into contact with, and to reserve judgment for God, the one true judge. I take that commitment seriously. If you ever see me saying something here that you believe perpetuates the stereotype of intolerant, hostile, or judgmental Christianity, please tell me so that I can remedy the fault, and grow personally. My faith does require me to believe certain truths about the universe, but that doesn't mean I'm here to impose them upon you or to interact with you based on my limited human perception of how well your life aligns with those truths. Questions about my faith are always welcome -- thanks for being interested.

I doubt it matters much, but in the interests of full disclosure, I am an administrator, and have been since September of 2003. If that means I can help you, please let me know here. I am also a bureaucrat, and have been since June 2004 -- I'm not a terribly active one, but if there's a nominee in need of promotion, let me know on my talk page. I was once a member of the Arbitration Committee (8/04-12/04) -- if you need advice about arbitration, I can offer a former insider's perspective. I was a member of the Mediation Committee from February-December 2005 (and served, somewhat ineptly, as its chair from February until April of that year) --I was, sadly, nearly totally inactive throughout that period and can offer little advice to anyone seeking mediation.
