Two requests: please log in for your changes. Second, please use edit summaries to provide rationale, especially when reverting. Thanks, PKtm 20:52, 15 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:

First of all, while you might disagree with me, your frustration should not result in attacking me. The edit summary "BACK OFF" is not appropriate. I now understand what you mean by "Season 1.16," but it is relatively unclear to readers. LOST is a page about the TV series, and the cast and characters section should not be that detailed. Cast member, Character, Season is fine. We don't need to go into more detail about last appearances, first appearances etc. But please, while we should continue to compromise on this disagreement, I have never made any personal attacks against you and I hope you'll refrain in the future. -- Wikipedical 18:11, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding edits made during August 21, 2006 (UTC)

This is your last warning. The next time you vandalize a page, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 18:39, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Please do not make personal attacks on other people. Wikipedia has a policy against personal attacks. In some cases, users who engage in personal attacks may be blocked from editing by administrators or banned by the arbitration committee. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. Please resolve disputes appropriately. Thank you. MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 21:07, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

Compliments are nice, thank you. MatthewFenton (talk • contribs) 21:10, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Lost-charlie-season3.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Lost-charlie-season3.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:02, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Literary present tense

Hey man, just to let you know - there was a consensus a while back that all Lost character articles should be written in the present tense: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Lost_%28TV_series%29/Present_tense

even on the dead ones! I had to revert your edit to Boone, and also - I got rid of the extra sentence on the lead paragraph so it matched the others. SergeantBolt 20:10, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

Also, I reverted your similar edits on the Ana Lucia and Michael pages. Please don't change any more. SergeantBolt 20:12, 25 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Lost flashbacks

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:JulietLost.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:JulietLost.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 05:21, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:JulietLost.jpg

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:JulietLost.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 05:22, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Blanking

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content. Blank pages are harmful to Wikipedia because they have a tendency to confuse readers. If it is a duplicate article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalised, please revert it to the last legitimate version. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please edit the page and replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please see the deletion policy for how to proceed. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia! Ian¹³/t 17:06, 11 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:SunLost.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:SunLost.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] AfD nomination of Sarah Shephard

An editor has nominated Sarah Shephard, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sarah Shephard and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it.
