JW Sexton High School
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
J.W. Sexton High School is a public school located on the western edge of Lansing, Michigan, United States, in the Lansing School District. Known for their astounding Track and Field and Football teams, the Sexton Big Reds dominate the athletic field and are members of the Capital Area Activities Conference. With some of the best qualified teachers in the state, students receive an education that puts more graduates into ivy league colleges and universities than their inner-city competitors of Eastern High School and Everett High School; and their subburban competitors of Grand Ledge, Okemos, Holt, Waverly, and Haslett. The school has an extremely fierce inner-city rivalry with the Everett Vikings of Everett High School located on the south side of the city.
The students fondly refer to the school as "The Dubb" or "J Dubb," short for "J.W." of the school's name.
