[edit] You're welcome.

I check the new userboxes page on occasion and saw yours and added them because they're to the point and different too. Keep up the good work. --Slyder Pilot 20:28, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Your welcome Also ForeverDEAD 01:53, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Thanks! --Jw21/PenaltyKillah(discussedits)'NUCKS:4-6-0 01:53, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
How did you do that templete add thing? Ive wanted to create more boxes but i dont no how to do that ForeverDEAD 02:01, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
Next time, type "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/" on the URL bar, then type "User:Esskater11/*USERBOX NAME*" if you want userboxes to be in your domain (a bit like your own trademark), or "Template:*USERBOX NAME*", preferably if the userbox's topic is 'universal' (like the one I've just added). Remove *USERBOX NAME* with, well, the name of the userbox, and there you go! --Jw21/PenaltyKillah(discussedits)'NUCKS:4-6-0 02:07, 27 October 2007 (UTC)
I have the page but how do i make the templete code simpler insted of listing all of the collors?ForeverDEAD 02:27, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mentoring Barnstar

The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar
message thanks for helping out my students! You made a lasting impression on them! Thelmadatter (talk) 17:11, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Wow... thanks! Really, I hardly think I deserve it! ;) Well, I'm happy to know that the 'kids' are matured Wikipedia contributors (no more caps, eh?), and I wish you and your class great successes in whatever you do! Thanks for the award! --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|12-9-2 19:04, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Dont worry... this is just a cheap ploy to get you to keep helping my students! hee hee hee In reality, I plan to continue working with Wikipedia in my classes, not as intensive in the spring, but we will be doing something. Thelmadatter (talk) 19:19, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Ok... *smile droops* XD Well... they have been quite inactive lately... I found no activity in my watchlist for weeks. But some users did contribute on their own. Glad to hear that the students are doing fine, and good luck in the future! --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|12-9-2 19:22, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Archos Jukebox

When you find dbl redirects, please don't blank them, fix them or leave them alone so others may do so. Carlossuarez46 (talk) 19:28, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

(reply from User talk:Carlossuarez46:) I had moved some Archos pages due to a discussion, but after further study on the source link, I attempted to re-move (no pun intended), or re-rename Archos Jukebox series to Archos Jukebox as no proof of the word "series" is actually used. The attempt was fruitless, as the page was used as a re-direct page. I tried blanking it, and moving it again. Turns out that Wikipedia doesn't allow a blank page replaced. And then I forgot to revert the blank. I may try requesting a move to admins, and if you have the time to do so, that would be a lot of help. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|16-10-3 06:54, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] sorry

sorry about that Zen picture. And please, I do not ignore those warnings on my talk page. I try to upload pictures that can give a visual representation of the subject. In fact most of the dead links are there b/c the pictures were replaced by newer versions. Again I am sorry for uploading that Zen and I'll make sure to get the right tag before uploading anything else. -- ZookPS3 (talk) 20:57, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

It's okay. I just thought... when I saw "people love my pictures", admist all those warnings, that it seemed a bit ignorant, if not deceptive. A majority of the pictures you uploaded are obviously salvaged when the right tag was replaced, but it involved the manpower of many other users. You can continue uploading images, but just learn about the license tags and the importance of them. No one wants a lawsuit, eh? ;) Contact me or the help desk if you have inquiries. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|19-12-4 21:18, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
If I took a homemade picture of my own Zen would that be allowed? -- ZookPS3 (talk) 02:08, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Yes. Do not use the fair use tag. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|23-14-4 02:19, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok I just upload a photo taken by me of the player, can you check it to see if it needs any other information, tags, etc? -- ZookPS3 (talk) 19:42, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks...!

I haven't discussed my edits with anyone so far, I thought them to be minor. This stupid IE layout problem really bugs me whenever I come across it, and I know I'd sleep better knowing it was fixed for good :) . Steppres (talk) 08:37, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Re. Palmer Vandalism

lol yeah, sorry, couldn't help it. I assume you are in Palmer yourself, or were at some point. Just imagine Ebe as maskot! Hillarious! -- SergeiXXX -- 02:36, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

Should you be blocked for vandalism, or be accused of sockpuppetry? Both seemed very tempting... And is it a coincidence that User:142.33.185.2 is the IP for RC Palmer? I've got evidence of you using multiple accounts and IPs, by the way... --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|23-14-4 02:41, 6 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Chinese MP4 article

In the talk page of this article you said notability was a factor in why rockchip got deleted but as the notability guidelines in the article you linked to clearly indicate "Notability guidelines do not directly limit article content". As such, cause I wasn't pushing to create an article about Rockchip, notability has little bearing on this. I also think that a segment about quite a dramatic shift in type of product of a product is very notable on a product's page, it's like saying a segment on windows 2000 isn't notable enough for the windows page, it's crazy. I strongly suggest you stop messing around with this page or at least stop reverting edits as your progress has been largely unhelpful and it has become apparent that you don't fully understand wikipedia policies. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AresAndEnyo (talkcontribs) 02:39, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

Hmm... there isn't a segment on Windows 2000 on the Microsoft Windows article. And if there's something I'm guilty of, it should be for the fact that I do not completely understand the "Chinese MP4 player" concept. I was doing my job to make the article neat, with the basic information. I would like you to also seek the opinion of other users in the Wikipedia community. Thanks for the note. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|23-14-4 05:39, 8 January 2008 (UTC)
Firstly, I had only reverted edits on external links, which are links to message forums (not a place of encyclopedic researchable knowledge), and are completely unrelated to "Rockchip". When I added "One word: Notable?", I was just giving my opinion on why such a section may have been deleted... And speaking of that section... I had traced this article's history, and there are no evidence, whatsoever, of me participating in the removal of a "Rockchip" section. I do not tolerate such accusations. Seeing that you added back the spam links, and after reading your comment from my talk page, I have decided not to revert it this time, for now, and see if it still stands. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|23-14-4 06:07, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Your UserBox

I see that you posted a thank for using your userbox on my page, and I've replied them. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right and you'd get the message. Wiki is far from helpful when it comes to answering a freaking simple question like 'how the f do I reply my own talk page?'... Please correct me if I'm not doing it right in replying talks. -- Anthonydraco

I added a simple sig, btw. Next time when you post a comment on a talk page, always sign your name at the end of the message (click the button with a signature, in between the "No W" button and the dash button).
When you reply, just add a colon (":") in the beginning of the line, followed by a space. It would cause an indentation, imitating a nested-style thread. Hope this helps. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|24-14-4 20:18, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Request for comment on Category Redirect template

Because you are a member of WikiProject Categories, your input is invited on some proposed changes to the design of the {{Category redirect}} template. Please feel free to view the proposals and comment on the template talk page. --Russ (talk) 22:00, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] The "damn gay liberals" userbox

Even though it's sarcastic, it's in violation of WP:Civility. Sarcasm, by itself, is not incivility. Throwing homophobic epithets around is. Your userbox was used as a possible example of "uncivil" userboxes (see the discussion here) and by keeping it up, you encourage the likelihood that the community will build consensus to censor all political userboxes. So, I please request that you delete it.   Zenwhat (talk) 08:11, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Right. It's reworded slightly. Thanks. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|25-17-4 19:07, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Is this personal?

Waht do you want from me? Leave me alone! Stop harrassing me on my talk page. I have a right to post or delete anything I want there. And I am not a "sockpuppeter". I don't even know what that is! I was just having some fun on the Palmer page. Then, I logged off, and, forgetting that I am logged off, I edited again. That is why the IPs came out different. Give me a break. What did I do to you? My own account got hacked three weeks ago. I don't know what they (the hackers) did with it, or the edits they made. I know I didn't go anywhere outside the Palmer article. Oh, and just so you know, I have two articles that I have started here:

So, I do "contribute constructively".

Anything else?

--User:142.33.185.2. 04:41, 23 January 2008 (UTC)
I am very sorry if you've been hacked, so please state your case on that page to avoid a block. Remember to always log out whenever you finish using a public PC. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|25-18-5 04:46, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] New Semester, New Appeal

This semester I am teaching academic writing to a group of teachers at my school. This course starts on Monday Jan 28. I would like to know if you are still interesting in "mentoring". You can see the syllabus at Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/SyllabusIf so, please leave a message on my talk page and update the mentor's page Wikipedia:School_and_university_projects/ITESM_Campus_Toluca/Mentors, if . If not, please remove your name and information from that page. Thanks! Thelmadatter (talk) 21:19, 24 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] May I ask you why using "Image:TabWindow.JPG" is not OK?

May I ask you why using "Image:NewTab.JPG" is not OK?

You deleted the image from the userbox I made(User:BrianGo28/Userboxes/TabWindow), but did not delete the image from Wikipedia. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BrianGo28 (talkcontribs) 06:44, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Non-free images cannot be used for user-generated content outside of the Wikipedia namespace, namely userboxes. --Jw21/PenaltyKillah VANucks|26-19-5 07:33, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Partial list of stubs/short articles created or rewritten by Adv A students

I know there are a lot here but many are very short stubs. If there are a lot of grammar mistakes, just tag it with a clean up tag. I did not require that they wikify the articles due to time. Final versions for grading purposes are due Tue Feb 5 so any help you can give would be appreciated.

Santa Clara del Cobre, San Felipe del Progreso, Villa de allende, Ixtapan del Oro, Zumpahuacán, San Juan del Río, Nautla, Santo_tomas_de_los_platanos, Tejupilco, Saint Vincent (island), Jilotepec, Tlacotepec, Palizada, Santa Gertrudis (This student wrote about the town in Oaxaca State but it redirects to Misión Santa Gertrudis in Baja California. The student´s stub is under the information about the mission), Álvaro Obregón (municipality), Zentla, Bernal, Querétaro, Temoaya, Acambay, Xpu Há, Chapa de Mota, Pasorapa, Huasca_de_Ocampo, Malinalco, Mexico State, Almoloya de Júarez, Polotitlan, Córdoba, Veracruz, Mexicaltzingo, Lagunillas, Michoacán, [Ixcateopan]], Benito Júarez, Quintana Roo, Jocotitlan, Ixtlahuaca, Temascaltepec, Teapa, Tabasco, Huandacareo, Zualcapan, México, Capulhuac, Xalatlaco, Boca del Cielo

[edit] All Purpose Cultural Cat-Girl Nuku Nuku DASH!

I request that you reevaluate your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Nuku Nuku Dash. The article has been heavily expanded from the one line stub when the AfD began and is at a point that I feel it can stand on its own. --Farix (Talk) 04:01, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Photo players

If you have a moment, I'd be grateful for your reply to my question here. Thanks. -- Hoary (talk) 15:12, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Barnstar

The Barnstar of Good Humor
Awarded for the edit summary on this edit. I'm still laughing. J.delanoygabsadds 20:42, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
Good humour? Would somebody check the envelope?! Man, thanks for the b'day gift... As fate would have it, J's status appears... I'm not usually a funnyman, but I gotta credit that comma-loving dude for my rv. Thanks for my making my day, and keep on clearing Wikipedia of vandalism! --Jw21/PenaltyKillahBDAY! 18:48, 7 March 2008 (PST)
Well, I have long held the opinion that no one here gives out barnstars as much as people probably deserve, so I decided to try to change that. I was really lol so I decided to give you the star. btw Happy late Birthday!!!!!! J.delanoygabsadds 17:45, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] AfD nomination of Chinese MP4 player

An editor has nominated Chinese MP4 player, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chinese MP4 player and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:59, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for chipping in. I'd considered just redirecting the page, but I'd rather get some input. I hope we can keep on working on thins. Chris Cunningham (not at work) - talk 22:57, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Digital Audio Player

A product review of an Sony player that doesn't happen to play MP3s[1] is not proof of the assertions that MP3 is a 'universal format', and 'near-universally supported'. I've removed it twice now. Please quote the text in the article which you think lends support to that claim. Rcooley (talk) 02:45, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Userboxes Page Edits

I apologize to you for my edits of your userbox page. There was obviously a misunderstanding. It seemed to me that it would be okay to add additional userboxes, since you had already a big list to various subjects. I didn't know that you created it all by yourself and hand-picked them. I saw that you already reverted my edits, so everything is back to where it was. I hope that you can forgive me my oversight. Cheers! --roy<sac> Talk! .oOo. 02:51, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] hi

Yup I still exist. Havent edited in the last 2 weeks because of work (doncha hate when life gets in the way?) But I have been working on redoing and trying to standardized the articles associated with pages like Municipalities of Mexico State. I did all that existed a month or 2 ago in Municipalities of Oaxaca and have done most that exist in the Mexico State list. Ill get back to it seriously when the semester is over in a couple of weeks. Not only do I think it is worth doing in and of itself, I would like to have as many standardized examples in as many Mexican states as I can for next fall when I try to have students write town/municipality articles again. This past semester was a learning experience to say the least.

I have two teachers left in my Wikipedia writing class (teachers are a pain to teach...) User:Guillermo7777 and User:Filiberto022. Guillermo is working on two articles but neither are up yet. One is on the Mexican legal system (he is a lawyer) and the other is about the Mexican national team to the 2008 Olympics (basically a list of participants with short bios). Filiberto022 was working on a bio of John Rawls but there is an article about him already. He is writing one about a small town in the north of Mexico, cant remember the name. He has one other to write (free choice) but he has no idea what it will be about. They are supposed to turn in their final portfolios for grading on May 12th so I expect a frenzy of activity the week before that *sigh*. Anyway, if you, or anyone you can talk to wants to help these guys out, I would really appreciate it. Both seem a little lost and overwhelmed by all this. Helping hands would be really nice.Thelmadatter (talk) 13:11, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Clix 2 article reversion

I reverted your iriver clix edit on the grounds that:

  • The links were relevant (a link to the manufacturer's product manual for example)
  • The {{{list}}} markup tag was broken.

According to the links guieline your removal of the link to the user forum was appropriate, but in this case I think it's inclusion is warrented. The clix is poorly documented by iriver and the clixhere forums are a valuable secondary source. If you remove it again you're within the guidelines and I won't object. It would be very nice for people seeking extra information if you left it in, however. — Clarknova (talk) 21:23, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

That's swell and all that, but there is no way of knowing if the content on a message board forums is verifiable... and if it is even encyclopedic and informative (considering troubleshooting topics usually deal with a specific issue and solutions, not general specifications of the product). --Jw21/PenaltyKillahCANUCKLEHEAD! 21:39, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
It's verifiable if you own the product, which I do. Generally the site is as accurate and more informative than iriver's. It deals with troubleshooting topics, yes, but also contains a large body of data about the product unavailable from the manufacturer. But that's fine. As I said, you're technically within the guidelines by removing that. Researchers can find it through Google.
However, there is no need to remove the link to the product manual. Although served by the clixhere forum it is the official manual that ships with the device (I just verified this with SHA1). An official manual is certainly encyclopedic and a belongs in an External Links section. — Clarknova (talk) 09:37, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok. If the official iriver site hosts the manual too, I'll replace the link. --Jw21/PenaltyKillahCANUCKLEHEAD! 12:51, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] UMS

I do know what it means... I was just responding to an iriver edit. Sorry for the confusion! --Jw21/PenaltyKillahCANUCKLEHEAD! 21:05, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Didn't get that it was sarcasm until now. --Michael Greiner 21:27, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Bertuzzimoorepunchsmall.jpg. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria.
