RE:Image Violation
I don't know which images are you talking about. And apparently they were already deleted by an administrator. So please, send me the flickr links to the images and I'll tell you why I request it's deletion. In the future, you can upload flickr images directly to Commons through this tool. In case the tool refuse the upload, then the license of that particular flickr image isn't allowed in Commons (Commons only accepts the CC-BY or CC-BY-SA variants of the Creative Commons licenses). Cheers, Kved (talk) 02:16, 22 May 2008 (UTC) PD:And please, excuse my crappy english.
- Hi again, I was checking your latest contribs, and found this. These images were deleted from Commons because some of them were "© All rights reserved" and others were CC-BY-NC-ND, one of the Creative Commons licenses that are not allowed in Wikimedia Commons. In Wikimedia Commons fair use doesn't apply as it does on the English Wikipedia.
Wikimedia Commons itself does not allow fair use or uploads under non-free licenses, including licenses which restrict commercial use of materials or disallow derivative works. Licenses that are acceptable include the GNU Free Documentation License, Creative Commons Attribution and ShareAlike licenses, and the public domain.
- I hope this answers your questions about the deletion. Cheers, KveD (talk) 02:48, 22 May 2008 (UTC) PD: And again, please forgive the multiple, and surely aberrant errors in my english speech.
- You did everything right except for the last step, there was a legend in the bottom that says: "You must then click this link to complete the upload." You don't clicked on that link. :P I clicked that link for you, and the image is now uploaded. KveD (talk) 18:14, 22 May 2008 (UTC)

Krishnaism
That's a point of view. For Vaishnavites, Krishna is God. For Moslems, Allah is God. God is not a name. The Judao-Christian God may be called Yahweh.
see, http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/God see 1. the one Supreme Being, the creator and ruler of the universe. 2. the Supreme Being considered with reference to a particular attribute: the God of Islam.
Thus, for Vaisnvaites, Vishnu is the supreme God, i.e., the God of Vaishnavism, with respect to definition 2. Raj2004 (talk) 01:45, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Supreme Being is fine. But you are wrong about God being a proper name. God is a Germanic term for a supreme Being. It's not even a Judaeo-Christian term!!
When you refer to god in the lowercase term (i.e., god), it does not mean a supreme being, but one of many gods, such as Greek mythology. Read www.dictionary.com again.
Raj2004 (talk) 10:51, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Juthani, just to give you our view, you may accept it or not but there is only one Supreme Lord, but he has many sides to His personality. He assumes various forms in which He relates to His devotees in different ways, and these forms have many different names. But according to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and His followers, the svayam bhagavan form of God is Krishna. Krishna enjoys intimate relationships with His family and friends. Narayana (the same as Sri Hari and Sri Vishnu) is God in His official capacity, ruling over the spiritual kingdom Vaikuntha. We recommend especially to worship Krishna, because one can have a very sweet and intimate relationship with Him. However, we have nothing against those who prefer to worship Narayana-Vishnu in a mood of awe and reverence. Any worshiper of any form of the Supreme Lord must be respected as a Vaishnava. But worshipers of lesser gods, in other worship, worshipers of someone other than the Supreme Lord, are less fortunate. We can understand the different moods of Krishna and Vishnu by the example of a professional man, say a physician. In his clinic depend on him for keeping them alive and in good health, so they treat him with great respect. The same man is treated differently at home by his wife and children. Who is the real man, the one in the office or the one at home? We say that Krishna is the original God, because He reveals Himself in a personal way in His relationships with His devotees more fully than Vishnu does. Wikidās-ॐ 11:36, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
I need graphics editing help
I noticed you are listed to help people in designing their user pages.
Well, I need help with a similar type of thing - graphics editing.
I'm preparing to coordinate this:
and for it I'm developing some awards. Each award will include an image, and that's where I need help...
I've got to have all the awards done by July 15th, and I don't even have the first one finished yet.
I'm looking for someone who knows how (or is interested in jumping in and learning how) to work on images in xcf format using GIMP, or Inkscape, etc. (Because I and others will need to be able to edit each image's layers after you are done with it).
If this sounds like something you are interested in helping with, please drop me a note.
By the way, both GIMP and Inkscape are free, making it easy to get started from scratch.
I look forward to your reply.

- I would love to help, but I'm not a good graphic designer. I haven't used the programs either. I like Astrohurricane can use Paint, thugh the graphic won't be as good. I can be of any other assistence if you need me. Juthani1 tcs 19:36, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

- When I started this project a couple weeks ago, like you, I had only used MS Paint (and was reluctant to use, and was even intimidated by, other raster graphics editors). And like you, I'm not very good at graphics arts either. But I had read so many comments about GIMP (from other users here that I finally (with much hesitation) decided to download and try it. I was amazed!
-
- Then, as I went looking for others who used GIMP (in order to take advantage of the xcf file format which saves layer info and therefore allows people to collaborate easily on the creation of images - each person can work on a different layer if need be which makes sharing projects easy), I kept running into users who loved Inkscape (a vector graphics editor, with many raster graphics features), and found out it also supports xcf. (I'm in the process of learning it now).
-
- If you have the patience to spend hours tinkering with images in MS Paint, then you will absolutely love these other programs. The menus are semi-familiar and not too hard to figure out. Plus there is lots of help on these available - they have their own help, and there are lots of 3rd-party instructions available on the Web.
-
- But I didn't need help much. With a little bit of trial and error, it was pretty easy to figure out which commands corresponded to the MS Paint icons and menu items. And many of the other commands are quite intuitive.
-
- I was also very surprised at how powerful these programs are, being that they are free.
-
- Trust me. You'll love them.
-
- Without knowing much about the GIMP (except that it was "kick ass"), I was able to do the following:
-
- I started looking around Wikipedia for a general geography award, and the interlingual barnstar caught my eye:
-
- But the awards for the contest I will be running will be non-barnstar awards, and so the barnstar embedded in the image above makes it unusable for my purposes. So I stripped out the globe and barnstar by painting white over it with the pencil tool, to get this:
-
- I needed a transparent background, and all that took was to add a transparent ("alpha") layer, then select and delete the original background so the transparent background is all that was left:
-
- I then found a picture of Earth in this screen capture from NASA's Worldwind program:
-
- I carefully drew (with the pencil tool) a thick red ring around the Earth, blacked out (painted black over) everything outside the red ring, then made the black transparent, followed by making the red transparent, leaving just the globe.
-
- The GIMP supports layering, scaling, and positioning, which makes it easy to add components, so I added the blue marble to the globe stand to get this...
-
- (I also adjusted its brightness).
-
- Then I took this:
-
- And added an alpha layer (1st transparent layer) to it and then deleted the white surrounding the globe (leaving just the transparent background), removed the black, changed the remaining white lines to black, and touched it up by erasing bits here and there, and adding a couple lines. Then I pasted the whole thing into the above image as a new layer, positioned it over the Blue Marble and underneath the rim of the globe stand and reduced the layer's opacity by a little over half.
-
- In the version above, I also isolated the shadow on the floor below the stand by moving it to its own layer (so it can be easily altered later), and I enlarged the canvas (the picture size) to make room for another item or two (I'd like to add a passport).
-
- All of the above was a lot easier than I thought it would be. And if I can do it, then you'll be amazing at it.
-
- GIMP is the same type of program as MS Paint, it just has a lot more tools and commands. And since it's free, why not try it?
-
- I still use MS Paint for some of the little tricks I've learned to use it for, but now I use GIMP for almost all my image work.
-
- Would you like me to send you the xcf file of the globe above so you can start tinkering with it? If you'd like to give this a try, email me your email address, and I'll email it to you.

In response to your message
Hi Juthani,
I was somewhat confused about the message you sent me, which you can see here. Thanks for your kind words anyway! – Obento Musubi (C • G • S) 19:51, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
Stub
I suggest you make a cat for the stub. Around The GlobeContact 23:42, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
{{Swaminarayan-stub}}
Hi - I see you have recently created one or more new stub types. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals. This is partly in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies, and partly so that those who regularly deal with stub articles know what stub types are likely to need re-sorting soon. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. And please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 04:53, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
Pic/Rama Navmi
Jai Swaminarayan bhai! Sorry about the pic and if I seemed rude about it also. I was in Belgium at their mandir and just started some work on the article on behalf of Yogvivek Swami, the London mandir mahant. I've got a lot of changing around to do on their (by the way, did you know it was under him that the new version of the article got put up?). Actually, I was wondering if you could help. Whilst I'm pretty darn good (if I say so my self) with article write-ups, I'm not so good with images. Swami said I have permission to put up photos from Mandir.org in the article but I'm not sure how that can be put into the licensing. Would you have any ideas? I'm changing it in my sandbox if you happen to want to try anything, but Swami's insisted that no information gets removed, or no new info is added without sources. -- Harish (Talk) - 09:39, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
- Woaaah, easy there tiger. The Akshardham article is currently off limits as it's being looked into by London santo. I'm touching that once they've given the go ahead on certain ideas and changes in the version I've showed them. I've left the grammatical issues and non-wiki links unlinked for that reason. I tend to do that bit after anyway ;) ... but I appreciate the comments on that effort greatly, and your willingness to add to it. About the 'dham photo, the only reason I have that current image for the infobox is because it shows the Akshardham complex, as oppose to just the central monument which itself is not Akshardham. I'll also see to getting permission to take my own photos as well. Thank you. -- Harish (Talk) - 17:32, 3 June 2008 (UTC)
