[edit] Articleclass status

I feel that there's more to this story, but the article is long enough it doesn't seem correct to call it a stub.--T. Anthony 04:01, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

Dagnabbit she is in the German Wikipedia. Her obituary was mentioned in the New York Times[1] and All About Jazz[2]. She's listed in Wikipedia:Music encyclopedia topics/26.--T. Anthony 04:05, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Incident with Art Blakey

I have read on one of the jazz bulletin boards that Hipp became inebriated thanks to Art Blakey, who after repeatedly buying her drinks, then persuaded her to perform, with disasterous consequences for Hipp. Their are bad stories involving Blakey, as those who have read the Tom Perchard biography of Lee Morgan will know, but can the incident with Hipp be corroborated.
