Much of the content you added are copyright violations from other Netzer web sites. For the copied text to be used here, the copyright must be renounced or licence changed to one compatible with the GFDL at sites like [1]. By the way, are you a Netzer Oz member? I'm a Hineni [former-]Madrich in Sydney.

I just noticed that the problematic edits come from User:220.245.179.134 which I only presume is you anyway.

Wikipedia:Copyright and Wikipedia:Copyright problems discusses the issues. Basically, it is illegal to copy text from one web site and post it on another, such as Wikipedia, without the creators of the first web site explicitly giving their consent. In particular, Wikipedia is licensed under the GFDL which allows its content to be further distributed and works to be derived, with a few conditions.

Most of the content that you posted at Netzer Olami is taken off a web site. While I plan to clean up the Semel details anyway, it is currently taken verbatim from <www.netzer.org.au/webpages/chinuch/netzersymbol.htm>, which writes on the page "© Netzer Australia Inc. 2004", clearly invalidating the use of this content on the Wikipedia web page.

You have some options:

Ask Netzer to release the contents of that page under the GFDL. They do this by making a note on the page permitting its reuse.
Ask Netzer to permit the content's use in Wikipedia and derived works by sending an email from an address associated with the Netzer Oz web site to permissions at wikimedia dot org.
Delete the content from the article, and potentially rewrite it, citing the above web site as a source.

Similarly, the image of the flag may not be used on Wikipedia unless (1) you are its author (photographer) and release it under the GFDL or Public Domain; (2) its author will release it as such; (3) the author gives explicit permission for its use on Wikipedia and any derived works.

No, sorry Justin, it's not enough... I was asking socially, not on a legal point. I'm the webmaster of Hineni's site, but that doesn't mean I can copy from it without editing the pages to say "This page's content is released under the GNU Free Documentation License and may be reproduced and used in derivative works accordingly". Ultimately, though, the way that content is framed for the Netzer or Hineni sites would usually not be appropriate and I would choose to rewrite the included content. jnothman ^talk 00:00, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Netzeraustflag.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too.
