Just A Game Handicap
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Just A Game Handicap is a race for thoroughbred horses open to fillies and mares age three and up willing to race the distance of one mile on the turf. Held each June at Belmont Park, the Just A Game is a Grade I event offering a purse of $300,000. It is also a minor prep to the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf.
(There are three horses called Just A Game in the online thoroughbred pedigree register. One is Irish, one is Argentinian, and one is American. This writer has yet to discover which, if any, of these three are honored by the naming of this handicap.)
On November 28th, 2007, this Grade II stakes race was upgraded to a Grade I by the American Graded Stakes Committee.
