This might better be moved to the List of Latin phrases and this page replaced with a #redirect.
- I disagree. If it's going to be merged with anything it should be moved to a larger article about jurisdiction rather than the too-general list of Latin phrases. But I think it's fine where it is, too. Kat Walsh (spill your mind?) 20:25, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

This entry seems rather lacking though and could use some development. I could be wrong on this, but I have never heard of marital status being ruled on via in rem jurisdiction... Butnotthehippo 02:00, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
The current last paragraph sounds like conspiracy theory gobbledegook. Would the author care to produce a source for his claims?
