Willkommen Junesun,

You have done a good job so far in Wikipedia, also called 'Pedia or WP. I can see that you're a serious Wikipedian interested in improving our project. If you stay for a while, you'll discovered that collectively, we're a cooperative and friendly community. We are all here to learn, and hopefully can give something back. If you have questions or doubts of any sort, do not hesitate to post them on the Village Pump, somebody will respond ASAP. Other helpful pages include:

Just keep in mind that while relevant discussions and constructive criticisms and are welcome, anything unproductive and/or destructive in nature is not. More importantly, we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind. Who knows? Perhaps you'll soon become a Wikipediholic and/or one of Wikipedia:Most active Wikipedians! :-) --Menchi 09:15 May 13, 2003 (UTC)

"please suggest more [world music]"

Sure. I used to listen to classical only, then World music introduced me to the world of modern music. The ones you listed are all modern world music. How about traditional and semi-traditional (i.e., mixed with modern instruments)? Would you like to try them out? If so, I do have some suggestions.

The composers for the Miyazaki Hayao animations use world music frequently, not just Japanese. For each movie, there released multiple albums with varied content, almost always over three.

My fave track from the soundtracks are:

  1. Spirited Away 03, Kamigami sama (The Empty Restaurant): mainly instrumental, with segments of female-male alternating vocal
  2. Spirited Away 16, 6 Banme no Eki (The Sixth Station): Not traditional Japanese, but modern. Purely instrumental. Piano solo. Very gentle and still.
  3. Princess Mononoke 12, Tatara Fumu Jotatsu (The Tatara Women): vocal
  4. Only Yesterday 16, Teremtés (Genesis): by Márta Sebestyén
  5. Only Yesterday 19, Frunzulitâ Lemn Adus(Fluttering Green Leaves): by Gheorghe Zamfir

--- You've commented on my talk page that i post anonymously to hide a bad rating. Well actually its just easier to post without signing in. You mention that my comments in a the placename etymology talk pages are innapropriate - how so? I haven't written anything untrue. Perhaps your arrogance derives from your perception of yourself as the only wikipedian who can handle several languages -I lived in your home country and can read several other european languages as well. --Tridesch

I don't buy your excuse. Wikipedia's "remember login" function works so well that I didn't have to sign in for months, even though I was absent for a long time. The only time you have to sign in manually every time is when you're using more than one user name. Your comments in that talk page are inappropriate because they are insulting people rather than giving logical arguments to support your POV. Besides Wikipedia is supposed to be objective. I am not arrogant and I certainly don't think that I'm "the only wikipedian who can handle several languages" - it'd be a pity for Wikipedia if that was the case. The reason I make a lot of reference to languages is because that's one of my main interests and because it hurts to see that people still think of countries as homogenous entities when they're in fact just arbitrary lines drawn for political purposes. --Junesun

Perhaps the song "Esperança", in Portuguese, Hebrew, Spanish, and Italian?

And would "Michelle" (the Beatles) qualify? --Node ue 18:58, 6 Apr 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Re Thai wikibooks

Hey there,

I'm not quite sure as to what you are doing with the Thai phonetics page there. I don't think you've quite grasped the understanding of the consonent-vowel relationship. I'm willing to show you how it all works, but communicating by this means is quite limited. My msn is billybobmac@gmail.com if you don't have msn we'll communicate by e-mail.

Cheers.
