[edit] Gangtok
Please could you review Gangtok again. I've made drastic changes. Nichalp 18:45, Feb 4, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] List of botanists by author abbreviation
Thanks for your comment :) I think that it's important for it to show the name in full, so people can see directly that e.g. Tswet is for Mikhail Tsvet without having to click the link (or hold their mouse over it). I'd love to do it properly as a table but my only query is whether that will make it a little hard for an editor to add a new name to the list. I didn't know how to do tables before, so will just copy the format over and see what happens. VivaEmilyDavies 19:22, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)

- Update: I tried doing that but it was a bit unsuccessful because I couldn't make the columns anywhere near a standard width, some ending up far too thin others too wide! If you could give me a pointer it would be apprecaited :) VivaEmilyDavies 19:40, 6 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Very many thank!! :)
I only expected a tip on how to do that, not to have it done for me! It's a great improvement, thankyou! VivaEmilyDavies 22:18, 7 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Deaths in 2005/January
Sorry, Jun-Dai, but this article is not a candidate for speedy delete. Since it is now in articlespace, it needs to follow the same path any other article would if it is to be deleted. It is not patent nonsense, vandalism, lacking in context, or any of the other speedy criteria, therefore, the only other route is VfD. However, I think it a worthwhile article and will not nominate it myself. Denni☯ 2005 July 1 22:59 (UTC)
- Okay, I see it was a test. While it's certainly more advanced than most test that get speedied, it's still just that, and that is a valid speedy criterion. Done. Denni☯ 2005 July 1 23:03 (UTC)
[edit] Tsubaki Sanjūrō
Please make sure that when you move a page you edit the text too, so that the title and text are consistent. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 7 July 2005 10:00 (UTC)
- Again, please don't change typography without checking articles linked to; in this case you turned live into dead links. I've reverted your changes until the relevant articles have themselves been renamed. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 7 July 2005 16:00 (UTC)
[edit] Macrons in titles
According to the current agreed upon manual of style, {Wikipedia:Manual of Style (Japan-related articles)} Japanese terms are not to use macrons or circumflexes in article titles. Unless a new consensus is made, please refrain from adding macrons (ō, ū) in titles, just to play safe. —Tokek 18:59, 13 July 2005 (UTC)
If interested, Wikipedia_talk:Manual_of_Style_for_Japan-related_articles#English_Wikipedia_is_now_UTF-8 seems to be the place where there is discussion on this. —Tokek 16:38, 24 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Rōmaji
You moved Romaji to Rōmaji, which I think it is OK. However, you did not fix the redirects to point in the correct direction (and they are many). Would you mind fixing them when you have time? Thanks. Oleg Alexandrov 00:15, 8 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] WikiProject Films scope
Hello,
I thought I'd let you know that I've brought up the question of the WikiProject Films' scope in the discussion, mainly because I don't think that the project has scope over Cinematography, or for that matter, filmmakers. The discussion includes a link to an earlier archived discussion wherein the question of filmmakers was already brought up and dismissed as needing its own project. As far as cinematography, in my (possibly biased) opinion, it is clearly a Filmmaking article, and is not directly pertinent to WP Films. The reason being that WP Films was created to standardize and improve the style and quality of articles on individual film titles. In any case, thought you'd like to join in the discussion! Thanks, Girolamo Savonarola 22:45, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] New userboxes
Per the terms of the German userbox solution new userboxes should not be created in template space. Please read up on the current practices. That page has instructions on how to properly create userfied userboxes. --Cyde Weys 20:46, 26 August 2006 (UTC)

- Muchas gracias Jun-Dai 07:07, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
Per the strawpoll, education userboxes are probably going to end up on Template space. For consistency, I propose to move the Bard College UBX to Template, unless you have some major objection. Feel free to do it yourself, or if I don't hear back in a few days, I will take care of it. --NThurston 18:28, 14 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Bard mini logo.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Bard mini logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Shoah DVD cover.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Shoah DVD cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:59, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Meshi_(dvd_cover).jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Meshi_(dvd_cover).jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 16:35, 6 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Taiwanese cinema
Hello there! Perhaps you could add some artcles on Taiwanese cinematographers, film editors and film producers. You can add a {{CinemaofTaiwan}} template at the bottom of articles.
