This is a fine start, on an interesting figure. But statements like "one of the leading artists in the world who are creating original works..." must be substantiated, and indeed should only be used if quoted directly out of a reliable source. In other words, he's not "one of the leading artists" unless he is widely considered to be so by the art world. More on his life and on his works would be wonderful. I question the Wikipedia:Notability of the person. My (very) quick Google failed to yield any reliable sources. So, I put the notability tag for now. -- Taku 01:57, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
