[edit] Targetted for Deletion?

There are a number of notable things about Jungle Jam and Friends: The Radio Show! that warrant its inclusion in wikipedia. For one thing, some high-caliber, award-winning talent is involved in its creation - most notably Buddy Miller and Julie Miller. This is no fly-by-night production. For another thing, JJ&F:TRS has several seasons of material under its belt, and is still in production. It's a going concern with ongoing relevance.

In any event, it's certainly as relevant and as notable as thousands of unquestioned wikipedia articles.CrimsonLine 21:19, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

I agree... it would, IMO, fit under the category of broadcasting history (since it's gone in & out of production, is popular with many, both children and adults... though it doesn't seem to be as widely broadcast as it was 10-15 years ago). [edit] Working on the Problems

Clearly, this article has problems with NPOV and citing sources. I have also noted issues that are raising concerns on this article's deletion page. To start addressing these problems, I've begun pulling information on notable characters into the main article. I'll start working on NPOV and source citation, as well. - CrimsonLine 21:46, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The question of deletion is absurd

Sure, there are some topics that could be obscure enough to not be worth putting in Wikipedia, but this is not one of them. This is a well established program that's been around for nearly 16 years, and is still broadcast on approximately 120 stations across the US and Canada, as well as online. I've found people in Africa who know and love Jungle Jam enough to have tapes of the episodes.

Amazingly creative and talented entertainment for all ages. Features positive lessons and values taught through hilariously stories!

[edit] Characters

Despite being stated, Gruffy Bear is NOT the main character; just because he brought the gang together shouldn't give him that status. He isn't featured in enough stories perpetually to be considered a main character. Main Character means that Gruffy is the focus of every story; he's not. The Jungle Jam Gang is an ensemble of numerous main characters; no individual is more important than another, which is shown in shows like Wonderpets and the Save Ums. Anyhow, the Jungle Jam characters are all important. In Gruffy's case, perhaps we could change Main Character to Leader, or something like that.Ohyeh 16:07, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] More characters

Wow, these are bad descriptions. Some one (perhaps myself in the foggy future) needs to seriously rewrite them. Millard the Monkey sounds like the villain, the way he's characterized, Sully sounds like a goodie-two-shoe…

And, as one correction out of many, Millard is not dim-witted. "Slow-witted" or, even better, "slow on the up-take", but a monkey who discusses such topics as Joseph Stalin and the Bermuda Triangle, counts to 1,000,000, and goes to the public library to study the royal history of the Castle Montmart cannot be called "dim-witted".
