[edit] NoseNuggets disruption

Again, NoseNuggets is being disruptive and refusing to follow the proper forat for current events articles. I have blocked him 24 hours, but suggest that this may be a case to send to the Arbitration Committee (he has had an RFC against him, without luck), so that either a) probation can be seeked, making sure he edits this page properly, or b) a hard ban on him from editing this page can be put in place. Several people have noted NoseNuggets' conduct. It would be a shame if he had to be banned from editing this page, but if it goes to arbitration, there shouldn't be a shortage of witnesses. -- Mwalcoff 03:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Football (soccer) again

I seem to remember that the term "football (soccer)" had been used in the Current Events box. Someone has changed it back to "football." I guess it's not a huge deal, but I think it would be best if we use the compromise term here so as not to favor one brand of English over another. -- Mwalcoff 03:05, 9 June 2006 (UTC)

Personally I think anything World Cup-related should be listed just as "FIFA World Cup" (just like I only used "NFL" last season). It's unambiguous and avoids the name controversy. Kirjtc2 16:27, 9 June 2006 (UTC)
I now see the Ben Roethlisberger story is listed under "American Football". This is an international, not a European, encyclopedia. If you disambiguate one "football", you must disambiguate the others. Kirjtc2 23:25, 12 June 2006 (UTC)
NoseNuggets put that in. I changed it to NFL. -- Mwalcoff 00:17, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] June 18th note

There will be special events on June 18th at Major League Baseball stadia as light blue bases will be used and the seventh inning stretch will be moved to the sixth inning to point out one in every six men in the US and Canada suffers from prostate cancer. I have pointed it out so when it is unlocked (like the Mothers' Day pink bats story in May), that I hope people around the world will take note of this. NoseNuggets 12:40 AM US EDT June 16 2006

[edit] July 2006 Started

A note that July 2006 in sports has been started. NoseNuggets 10:18 PM US EDT June 25 2006

[edit] Peter Gammons

I have some question as I've never posted on this page. Is it open for posting by anyone or is it more "official"? I was wondering if the current news story regarding Peter Gammons was considered notable enough or appropriate to post on this page. --Brian G 15:54, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

You can add it if you want (there are no editing restrictions), but I'm not sure how notable someone whose biggest claim to fame is writing about baseball instead of playing it, is on this page. Kirjtc2 16:31, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
