[edit] English
Is there an official English translation of this name? --evrik 22:34, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think there exists some official translation. The word "junak" itself means something like "young handsome brave guy". Now this word itself exists mostly only in old czech songs and isn't often used in public. As a name of member instead of "junak" is often used "scout" (in czech "skaut") and as a name of organization "Junak" shouldn't be translated. --EnJx 21:53, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] translate Image:Hostyn7.jpg
Will someone please translate the text on from the Wikipedia Commons? We do not have a good biography of him in either language. Chris 04:36, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- I already asnwered in my discussion that you should look into commons:Image talk:Hostyn7.jpg. --EnJx 13:34, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, copying it here so I can build an article! :) Chris 21:45, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] translation into English
I was asked in my discussion by w:User:Kintetsubuffalo to translate text on the stone into english. So I try and hope that somebody will correct my raw (word by word) english translation:
- RNDr. (now something like PhD. in nature sciences) Rudolf Plajner was born 5th April 1901 in Prostejov.
- RNDr. is not something like PhD. Nowadays, both titles exist. Unlike PhD., RNDr. does not require three (or more) year(s) of study etc.--Galapah (talk) 18:53, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, RNDr. is different, my english is just so bad that I can't describe the difference. Anyway RNDr. still exists but only as a "relict", in present time you can't get this title. You can also look into Rudolf Plajner article and correct it there. --EnJx (talk) 07:50, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

- Between years 1929 and 1959 he lived and taught on "high school" (cs:realne gymnazium) in Holesov.
- In 1939 he was declared as a chief of Junak (czech scouts). His function was confirmed at the 3rd meeting (cs:snem) in 1968. And in this function he was accepted until the end of his life.
- In the fight of the country liberation from german occupation during WW2 he recieved from the president dr. Edvard Benes the "Czechoslovak war cross" (cs:Ceskoslovensky valecny kriz).
- In the times of communist regime he was persecuted, inlcuding members of his family. In this time (better: after this times?) he received many state and scout awards because of his devoting work for scouting movement, inluding the "Rank of silver wolf" (cs:Rad stribrneho vlka).
- The end of his life he spent in Luka pod Mednikem (now part of Jilove u Prahy), where he wrote a line of books and handwritings about the history and life of Junak movement in our countries. He died 23rd June 1987.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Junak symbol.jpg
Image:Junak symbol.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
