Junyuan Primary School is a government English medium school in Tampines GRC, Singapore, and was established in 1988.
The school adopted the name from the former Choon Guan Primary School, although the school is not affiliated. It functioned in 2 Tampines Street 91 in January 1988 and was officially opened on 2 September 1989 by Mr Yatiman Yusof, the Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC. When the school started, it functioned as a single session school with 20 classes from Primary One to Five and a total enrollment of 620 and a teaching staff of 29.
The school now has 1500 pupils and 70 teachers.
With its good academic and non-academic record, it has established itself as one of the top choice neighbourhood schools in Tampines. Junyuan Primary Achievements[citation needed]
Junyuan Primary School has been selected to undergo PRIME in 2008 and will be operating from its holding school premises at 7 Jalan Tiga Ratus for the next 2 years. The school will operate as a single session school.
