Junya Kondō (Japanese: 近藤淳也, Kondō Junya, born November 2, 1975 in Mie Prefecture, Japan) is the founder and CEO of Hatena Co., Ltd.. He is also known as one of the A-list bloggers in Japan. After he graduated from Yokkaichi Minami High School, he got into Faculty of Science, Kyoto University, and then he graduated.
In 2000, He dropped out of Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University. On July 19, 2001, He founded Hatena as a private limited company in Kyoto. On February 1, 2004, Hatena was converted to joint stock company.
On July 14, 2006, Hatena announced establishing U.S. subsidiary, Hatena Inc., in California, and he moved to Silicon Valley.
