Junji Shiotsu

Junji Shiotsu(1979-) is a contemporary Japanese installation artist. He was born in Nagoya City,Aichi Prefecture and graduated from Tama Art University, sculpture department. He is one of the winners of Taro Okamoto Award for contemporary art in the 11th exhibition.

He uses artificial materials such as mirror sheeting and resin to create illusory installations.

In the 「Mirage」work that he has dedicated himself to making over the past few years,he covers mirror sheeting and glass with thin strips of colored tape to create cityscapes that are cluttered with countless buildings. Looking at thee juxtaposed original panels,yet another illusory scene emerges.
