From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Juniper Green is a suburb of Edinburgh, Scotland, in the south- west of the city along the Water of Leith. It forms part of an arm of the city, crossing over the city bypass, and on to Balerno, down the foothills of the Pentland range. It is bordered by Colinton to the east and Currie to the south-west.
Juniper Green's earliest mention in the Kirk records of Colinton in 1707. Traditionally, its major industries were paper and snuff. Today it is primarily a dormitory suburb of Edinburgh with its own shops, pubs and a restaurant. Other facilities include a golf course, bowling club, and tennis club.
This suburb also has one of the most expensive streets in Edinburgh, Juniper Park Road.
