Jung-gu is one of the 25 gu which make up the city of Seoul, South Korea. It is located on the north side of the Han River, and is the historical center of the city (hence the name, literally "central district").

Located in the heart of Seoul, Jung-gu is an area with a variety of old and new. It is a center of modernity, where facilities such as department stores and shopping malls are clustered together[1], and also a center of tradition, where valuable historic sites such as Deoksugung and Namdaemun can be found.
Jung-gu vibrates with energy and diversity, and is crowded with people of all ages, regardless of nationality, all through the year.
In addition, together with such valuable cultural sites as Myeongdong Cathedral, there are some of the most significant landmarks of Seoul, such as N Seoul Tower on Namsan mountain. Cheonggyecheon Stream is also a good place for a night tour, lined with beautiful stone bridges and many sights.

Jung-gu is the center of Seoul. From this, it was the right place of scholars who stayed in Seoul and crucial subjects during the Joseon Dynasty.
