HUD is a housing agency which is part of FHA, and insurance for mortgage lenders who wish to provide low income housing to homebuyers who may not qualify for conforming lenders. They insure the loan with a mortgage insurance premium. The loan amounts are not more than $417,000 which is similar to Fannie Mae (sometimes they can be lower, but have never exceeded Fannie Mae loan size limits.

Another example is Respa laws which are primarily in place to assist consumers with loan amounts of under $300,000.00
This article is so not understandable and thus worthless. Obviously the smokescreen lenders put up regarding jumbo loans contributed to the subprime mortgage crisis. (my ip address really isn't relevant here)
