This song became a smash hit in 1992, reaching #3 in the U.S. A 1993 re-release of the song in the UK (where the original had been a minor hit) peaked at #8. On Vh1's 100 Greatest songs of the 90's Jump around was featured at 21. The song is popular amongst dance hall DJs. The song is known widely by its distinctive horn sound.
