[edit] Photo

Okay, people are switching between a picture of Julianna not in costume, and her dressed up as Stephanie, about once a week. The last person who switched it back to the pic of Julianna not in costume, mentioned Fair Use... I don't know if that meant the picture wasn't fair use or was. But please, either come here and tell us why you're changing the picture, or else leave it alone. Kat, Queen of Typos 06:55, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh. The photo was missing in the infobox, and I just ended up replacing it with the one used in Lazytown. That was my justification. :: Colin Keigher (Talk) 06:59, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh, okay. I didn't realize it was missing. Kat, Queen of Typos 03:33, 9 January 2007 (UTC)
Will someone please explain to me the idea of fair use? Reason I'm asking is, while the photo of Julianna dressed as Stephanie is all well and good, this is an article about her and not the character, unless, of course, she goes out in the streets of NYC dressed like that. There are quite a few images of the real person in the public domain. Ispy1981 18:08, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Emmy Award Winner

I do not believe that the fact that Kevin Clash is cited as the winner of the Daytime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series" is important to this article, as it has nothing to do with Ms. Mauriello, nor her nomination. 24.252.192.148 03:01, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

Stating that Kevin Clash won explains why she was only nominated and not awarded. Hazama 04:14, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
I think it's a pretty standard conclusion that someone didn't win the award if it says they were only nominated. Like actresses who have been nominated for an Oscar and don't win. Kat, Queen of Typos 06:39, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
I think the OP is right on this. Saying Julianna was nominated already implies she did not win. Leave it at that. Let Kevin Clash have the glory on his own Wikientry.--Ispy1981 18:16, 9 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Picture?

I noticed the reqphoto tag has been placed on the article. I have 3 pictures of her that I could upload. I would need to know how to do that and how to avoid having the image deleted (in plain English, please). If someone who is knowledgeable about this could leave me a message at my talk page, I'd be grateful. Thanks.--Sethacus 21:32, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

As far as I know, if you took the photo yourself, you have all rights to the photo and are therefore free to upload it for the article. -HamatoKameko (talk) 08:03, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] "Stars in" VS. "Starred in"

Until here is a citable source confirming that she has been replaced as the actress for Stephanie in LazyTown, this article should continue to state that Ms. Mauriello currently stars in the show. As of this time, there does not appear to any such information available. Beyond this point, continued reversion to the past tense, without proper citations, will be considered vandalism and will be handled accordingly. --HamatoKameko (talk) 21:39, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

Furthermore, in response to this editor's comment, "Julianna hansn't played Stephanie for MONTHS,http://www.lazytownlive.co.uk/ was announced to be the new stephanie in lazytown tours and television. It's over, and a wikipedia page wont change that..."
I'm afraid you are incorrect. The website for LazyTown Live confirms Kimberley Pena as the actress for Stephanie in the live show, only. It makes no mention of the television show. There has in fact been some talk of a third season of the show, though nothing is confirmed as of yet and no change in the show's cast has been announced. Please be certain of your sources before making controversial edits in the future, and please remember that the talk page is the proper place to discuss editing conflicts. --HamatoKameko (talk) 22:04, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Agreed. As I noted in my revert, since a troll repeatedly has changed this information, any such edits will be suspect. RainbowOfLight Talk 00:07, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
The user in question was just blocked for three months for abusing multiple accounts.--Sethacus (talk) 07:17, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Awesome, thanks for the update, Sethacus. Hopefully they won't reset their IP and try again, but I won't be surprised if they do. I'll continue to keep a watch out, and hope others will, too. :) --HamatoKameko (talk) 21:56, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Oh, my pleasure. The evidence does point to this being a repeat offender, blocked for six months last summer, for a litany of offenses. He just can't seem to stay away, I guess. The pull is too great. I also suspect this is the same person who spread some nasty offwiki rumors about Julianna.--Sethacus (talk) 03:45, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Hello! I would like to discuss the matter involving this "Edit War" about Julianna Rose Mauriello. Whether it be a prank or not, it IS true that the show "Lazy Town" has in fact ended. Julianna is in negotiation's for a movie titled "A Fix" now, and will not be returning to Lazy Town. With this said, the article should say "Played In" instead of "Play's In" from now on. Leaving it as "Play's in" may work seeing as how the new season of Lazy Town is still currently showing, but will need to be changed sometime soon.

Thank you!

Actors can, and frequently do, work on more than one project at the same time. Being in a movie does not preclude her from starring in Lazytown. Since the last word from a reliable source was that a third season may be in the works, we cannot make that change at this time. RainbowOfLight Talk 19:31, 10 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fact tags?

I noticed several cite tags have been recently added by PdThor. I'm not questioning Thor's judgment, however, I am aware that some of the facts may be on the official LazyTown website, which could be considered a reliable. I also suspect the author of her Imdb bio to actually be her father. Comments?--Sethacus (talk) 04:24, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, suspicion is not enough to go on when we're talking reliable sources. However, the LazyTown official website is entirely citable, and probably the best place to go to for eliminating those fact tags. --HamatoKameko (talk) 09:14, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Inappropriate material

I have removed, pursuant to Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons, a long thread here about information being inserted in the article, not supported by reliable sources and of dubious authenticity, concerning this young person's personal life and feelings. Discussing whether to include information and whether sources are valid on the talkpage of article is usually commendable and correct, and most of the posts here were in complete good faith, but in this case the thread itself raised BLP concerns and may not remain present. This material should not be restored, either in the article or on the talkpage. Newyorkbrad (talk) 05:57, 30 November 2007 (UTC)

Which part of WP:BLP is not being understood here? Removed further inappropriate material. --Rodhullandemu (please reply here - contribs) 11:29, 6 December 2007 (UTC)
pardon me but it general good policy NEVER to remove discussions from the talk page. it comes off as VERY fascist —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.253.138.177 (talk) 12:34, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
The information removed was a violation of Wikipedia's Biographies of Living Persons guidelines (see WP:BLP). Furthermore, it was libellous, and had it been left up, Wikipedia could have been sued. In this case, it was correct to have removed it. RainbowOfLight Talk 06:25, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
  • And it has been removed YET AGAIN. Anyone unhappy with this should read our policy on writing about living people. This can have legal consequences for the Wikimedia Foundation, and blocks may issue to anyone insisting on violating this policy. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 11:22, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
FYI to editors of this page: MySpace is NOT a reliable source. RainbowOfLight Talk 20:58, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
And to explain further, neither is IMDb, where I have just been, even if the poster claims to be (but probably isn't) JRM. --Rodhullandemu (Talk) 21:04, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
To also add, the alleged video that she posted on YouTube was removed due to the fact this was not her. Wildthing61476 (talk) 18:18, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
I also saw the IMDB bio and there was no mention of this issue as well. Wildthing61476 (talk) 19:23, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Just to clarify, this is a silly hoax/joke meant to poke fun at the supposed perverts who have been waiting for her to turn 18, it spans multiple user contributed sites, such as youtube, myspace, wikipedia etc. Jackaranga (talk) 23:24, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
Actually, to be fair, we have no idea why this all happened, or who is doing it. Could be teenagers, could be jealous stage parents. Who knows?--Sethacus (talk) 21:38, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
