[edit] Charisma

Considered heroic, Schanbel is infamous for having a charismatic personality.

I changed "infamous" to "known", because I don't think people are famous or infamous for having that trait. They are famous for something else, like their talent, leadership ability, religious activity; their charisma is a sort of inherent magnetic quality that a lot of people might notice, but their main claim to fame is elsewhere. Wikipedia has an article on charisma. "Infamous" doesn't seem to be exactly the word required here.

[edit] NPOV?

The article as it currently stands reads awfully enthusiastically for neutral POV informational material. I find Schnabel's work really engaging too, but. . . this feels more like a glowing review than an encyclopedia article right now. Anyone else think it should be tagged, or edited significantly to change its tone? PoetrixViridis 13:52, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] I agree with above criticism-needs objective revision badly

Much of the article looks as if it were written by a Schnabel publicist! To put Schnabel in the top 10,000 painters living right now in America is perhaps closer to the truth. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rhapsodelectro (talk • contribs) 01:23, 13 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Rework opening graph

The opening paragraph is in dire need of reworking so that it reflects Schnabel's non-film visual art more prominently, as he is first and foremost that and not a director. Also, Javier Bardem was already established outside of the US - Before Night Falls simply brought him to American audiences. SteveCoppock (talk) 16:22, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
