Julius Weise

Julius Weise (6 June 1884, Sommerfeld-25 February 1925, Herichsdorf , near Warmbrunn in Friedland) was a German entomologist . He specialised in Coleoptera, especially Chrysomelidae and Coccinellidae and was one of the first entomologists to use genitalia to identiy and classify species. His collections of Chrysomelidae, Coccinellidae, Staphylinidae and Carabidae are in the Museum für Naturkunde, in Berlin and the Cerambycidae and Coccinellidae are at the National Museum of Natural History, Washington.The Curculionidae and the Scolytidae are at the Senckenberg Museum in Frankfurt the Chrysomelidae and the Coccinellidae in the Swedish Museum of Natural History at Stockholm.
