Julius Drake

Julius Drake (born 1959) is an English classical pianist, famous principally for his work as an accompanist to singers and instrumentalists.

His recordings include Gramophone and Edison Award-winning discs with the English tenor Ian Bostridge for EMI, French oboe sonatas with Nicholas Daniel for Virgin, and a disc of songs by Charles Ives with Canadian baritone Gerald Finley.

Drake was director of the Perth International Chamber Music Festival in Australia from 2000 to 2003, and was musical director of Deborah Warner's staging of Janacek's Diary of One Who Vanished.
