Julie Mellor

Dame Julie Thérèse Mellor, DBE (b. 1957) Chaired the Equal Opportunities Commission between 1999 and 2005 and was made a Dame for services to equal opportunities in 2006.

She is now a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. She is Chair of the Fatherhood Institute and a non executive board member of the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills, the Employers Forum on Disability and the Green Alliance. She is a former board member of the Commission for Racial Equality and the National Consumer Council. She resides in Richmond, Surrey, England.

Prior to her appointment as Chair of the Equal Opportunities Commission, Julie Mellor was Corporate Human Resources Director for British Gas and has 20 years experience of human resources management in a wide range of environments, from the Greater London Council to Shell and TSB.

She has 2 children.
