Julian "Yo-Yo" Thew is an English professional poker player based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire.

Thew received his nickname when fellow players told him that his chipstack goes up and down like a yo-yo.

Thew has made eight finishes in the money on the European Poker Tour (EPT) to date, including two final tables during its first season, and winning the Baden bei Wien event in season four which paid him € 670,800. His seven money finishes lead the all-time list on the EPT.

In January 2005, Thew won the £1,000 no limit hold'em main event at The Grosvenor Grand Challenge in London, outlasting 128 opponents to take home the £48,000 first prize.

As of 2007, his total live tournament winnings exceed $1,710,000. He is sponsored by William Hill Poker.
