Julia Neigel (born April 19, 1966 in Barnaul, Siberia, (Ex-USSR), Russia) is a German singer/songwriter and producer. Her family moved back to Germany in 1971. She lives in Ludwigshafen am Rhein in Rhineland-Palatinate.
She began with singing at 14 and her first album was released when she was 22. Before, she had made classical music. Her music-style is Pop-Rock, with Soul and R'N'B Influences.
Her first concert was in 1982. In 1986 she joined the Band 'The Stealers' and found her own band, ' Jule Neigel & Band' (her nickname was "Jule" until 2005). Her first hit, "Schatten an der Wand" was released in 1987 (#12 in Germany). The first record sold about 200,000 copies and was producted by Ralf Zang, who produced Chaka Khan. Since now, she sold out more than 2 Million Records. She is working as a songwriter, singer, and producer since 1987 and has won many awards. She worked together with Simon Phillips, Paco de Lucia, Helmut Zerlett, andPeter Maffay. She is also a popular artist. Due to legal difficulties because of copyright infringement, through 2 ex-musicians, she didn't work in the music business from 1998 untiil 2005. She went to court and sued these musicians and got the rights for her first hit. In moment she has a big compaint against these people, because of 66 other songs of her records. In 2006 she re-started her career and released the live record, "Stimme mit Flügeln."
She has resumed the use her birth name, Julia Neigel. Since short time she is standing again on a different big stages, together with Ronan Keating, Ricky Lee Jones, Toto, Status Quo, Mousse T... She will release her new record soon.
