Julia George

Julia Charlotte George (née Botfield; born 1972 in Horsham), also known as Jules Botfield, is a reporter for the BBC Breakfast television news programme. She married in August 2006, and lives in south London.[1]

Julia read English at the University of Cambridge, then did a diploma in Broadcast Journalism at University College Falmouth.

She joined the regional BBC London news programme on 1 October 2001 (when it began), then the BBC Breakfast programme in May 2002. She also reports for BBC News. Earlier, she worked on the Morning Show and Newsroom South East - the geographically-larger predecessor of BBC London. She occasionally stands in for Vanessa Feltz on her BBC London 94.9 morning show.
In 2004 George reported from Grenada after hurricane Ivan struck the island. [2] She also provided live reports from the Oscars in 2005 for Breakfast television. [3] Prior to May 2006 George also stood in for Moira Stuart as the newsreader on the programme and occasionally also appeared as one of the main programme presenters. During 2007 George once again stood in as a relief presenter on BBC Breakfast as well as presenting on the BBC News Channel, before going on maternity leave in the Summer. She returned in April 2008.
