Julia Anderson trained as a ballet and tap dancer. She graduated from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver) in 2001 with a degree in Theatre and Psychology. She trained as an actress at the Atlantic Theater Company in New York City.

Julia Anderson began acting in movies around 2003. She appears in productions of mysterious or horror type gothic science-fiction. They often involve religiously or spiritually intense natures - about supernatural phenomena. The majority of these productions are filmed in Vancouver: home of the X- Files. She practises Bikram Yoga.
She played the lead actress as Anna in the 2007 film Road to Victory, a stripper who falls in love with a football player who is unable to sexually perform due to an injury. She trained with a dancer at the Brandis Vancouver strip club.
