Jules Hoüel

Guillaume-Jules Hoüel (born April 7, 1823 in Thaon; died June 14, 1886 in Périers) was a French mathematician. He entered the École Normale Supérieure in 1843. He originally did research on celestial mechanics, but later became interested in Non-Euclidean geometry and corresponded with Joseph Tilly.[1]
