Comic Yuri Hime S

I started the Comic Yuri Hime S wiki entry. The magazine is a moe yuri manga magazine for males :) I was wondering if you want to help with that entry? --ChuChu (talk) 23:38, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

Yuri manga magazines

(Oops I posted this on my own talkpage)

I can say, (and very proud to say LOL), that I love yuri manga. I keep up with the japanese news, if there was any other japanese yuri manga magazine I would have heard of it. sadly other than those 5 magazines, I haven't heard of any other :( --ChuChu (talk) 20:23, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it as soon as possible.
I find it interesting that Comic Yuri Hime S has a circulation slightly bigger than Comic Yuri Hime; 80,000 compared to 75,000. I think they are expecting to get more readers since it has the "moe" element, which might attract the otaku. --ChuChu (talk) 00:18, 4 January 2008 (UTC)

Sola

I have made a small correction to your edit of Sola (manga). The kanji 万 is ten thousand, so the referenced article's headline containing "200万" means 2 million, not 200 million (which would be 200億). I hope you find this beneficial to your Japanese studies, and good luck! --Albert Tellier (talk) 05:09, 5 January 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Eruruu, Aruruu, Oboro.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Eruruu, Aruruu, Oboro.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 21:18, 8 January 2008 (UTC)

AfD nomination of Mai Goto (actress)

An editor has nominated Mai Goto (actress), an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mai Goto (actress) and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 16:44, 12 January 2008 (UTC)

Category:Shōjo-ai

Ehy Juhachi, can you help me out here. This user called TigressofIndia created a Shōjo-ai cat, which is not only redundat with Category:Yuri but also misleading in itself. I think he/she is tagging every Yuri series as Shōjo-ai now. I'm not sure what I should do with this. Some help would be appreciated. Kazu-kun (talk) 22:44, 13 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks a lot for the massive revert!! Sorry I didn't help... I had things to get done and I couldn't get back to wiki till now. Anyway, thanks. Kazu-kun (talk) 03:02, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Adminship

After several interactions with you, I'm of the opinion that you would make a great admin. If you would like, I would gladly nominate you at WP:RFA. Let me know if you agree. Cheers, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 06:51, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

I see. No problem at all. We're all volunteers, and it's your time to use as you see fit. Cheers, Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 07:12, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Title of WP:MOS-AM

I have changed back the move for this page as proper grammar requires the hyphen after "anime" because it's short for writing "anime-related and manga-related articles". Please let me know if you have any questions. ···日本穣? · Talk to Nihonjoe 18:38, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Sound track template

Something like this?. Threw together a Template:Japanese track list. There's also Template:Track list. Some of the fields might be redundant, but I figured it would allow the template to be used in many different situations, with different label options. Or, very little label options. Thoughts? -- Ned Scott 07:52, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Hmmm, didn't seem to get any real attention on the Albums WikiProject. You were saying we should try some options with the Kanji and other titles being in one box. Sounds good to me if we want to try it, since not sure how many other people are interested at the moment. Which isn't to say they won't be later on. The episode template started out pretty small at first, with just a few of us manually converting lists. We might leave a message on WT:ANIME as well. -- Ned Scott 07:49, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

"Why can't anime have demographics?"

This seems the best place to address your question. Well, it's not about "why" actually. Obviously, anime producers must set a target audience for their products. The issue is that they don't usually disclose that information, as manga/novel publishers do. So when dealing with original anime (non-adapted from a previous manga/novel) adding a target demographic would be OR.

Now, about Shigofumi - I agree with you that the novel means something because it was released first. In fact, the WP:MOS-AM's stand is that the "Article introductions should be primarily about the first format". Therefore, even though the creator considers the anime as the original product, the article should have the novel as primary subject. I'm going to do some re-wording on the lead to make that clear. Kazu-kun (talk) 18:48, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

"first" is not the same as "original", and I agree with the guideline because this is an encyclopedia, not an advertisement site. While we can include the creator's take in the article, the article's arrangement has to be decided in accordance with wikiepdia criteria. Also, take in account that an encyclopedia is about the impact on the "real world", so we have the "first" product as primary subject because is the one that had contact with the "real world" first. This is part of the real-world perspective required for all articles. Kazu-kun (talk) 20:42, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia is not your personal fan site.

There is a reason NOT RECOMMENDED is in all caps. Saying that you don't like space inside the box as opposed to outside the box is not a reason and clearly not a necessary thing. Do not break site-wide style based on personal likes and dislikes. All Navboxen should be page width and default color, as well as style standardized text that they contain. Again, Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and that professional display is to be maintained above personal tastes. The Navbox in question is displayed on a gaming article with the GA rating, in order to maintain that rating standards need to be followed. Navboxen of all shapes, colors, and styles are an eyesore that looks bad to readers and breaks the flow between articles. I don't know why they show you how to break the standard coding on the help site but that's no reason to do so. Please refrain from intentionally reverting standardization on any of the Navboxen, if you continue I will start issuing tiered warnings. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 02:06, 2 February 2008 (UTC)

AeronPrometheus, again I remind you that there is no consensus agreed standard for these nav boxes, and certainly you cannot be forcing these changes when you are challenged on them. Please stop this. -- Ned Scott 09:00, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for Image:Kimi_no_Kakera.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Kimi_no_Kakera.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast (talk) 16:25, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

Template issues

What browser are you using? --AeronPrometheus (talk) 20:30, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Also, can you show me which pages are acting up for you without the clearall tag? It might be the way they're coded. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 20:36, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
Ah! I see what's up now. That's not a problem with the template that's something that can be fixed by creating a double return on the pages the templates resides on. I hate it when boxen and text butt up against each other too, but putting the fix in the template itself creates another problem that cannot be coded out. This is why I always take the fix to the actual page, putting +1 bytes on five pages is better than +5 on the template itself. Yeah it's a tradeoff, but this way when multiple templates appear on the same page they don't create an unsightly gap between themselves. Not that these two in the example would, it's just a matter of course. --AeronPrometheus (talk) 20:58, 8 February 2008 (UTC)
It's a labor of love -_-... --AeronPrometheus (talk) 21:14, 8 February 2008 (UTC)

Nav template stuff

Speedy deletion of Template:KeyWikiProject

A tag has been placed on Template:KeyWikiProject requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{tranclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. --MZMcBride (talk) 03:16, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

Dengeki Bunko isn't shonen

Light novels do not use the shonen/seinen demographic terms; the age group that reads them is in the overlap between the two demographics but the lack of furigana make it clear they are not aimed at children. As a compromise with certain individuals who insist on having demographics even where they do not apply (or cannot be applied with any certainty) we've agreed to call them seinen. Doceirias (talk) 10:44, 10 February 2008 (UTC)

User Chuchu does not speak Japanese fluently, has never lived in Japan, and has absolutely not basis for his convictions, despite being completely wrong. I translate light novels professionally and lived in Japan for six years. Native Japanese speakers have also pointed out that the terms are not used with light novels, but Chuchu refuses to be persuaded. I've given up arguing with him. Dengeki Bunko novels contain no more furigana than seinen manga do; only on difficult or obscure words. Kanji density is a little lower; they are Young Adult novels, after all, but they aren't children's books and no amount of misinformed confidence on Chuchu's part will ever make them so. Doceirias (talk) 19:27, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I think so. Ultimately it's just my opinion, but it hasn't be contradicted by anyone in a position to know better...generally, I think if there's doubt, leave it out. Doceirias (talk) 03:00, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
I don't need to be have a fluent Japanese, nor do I need to live in Japan to know what's the target readership of light novels. I depend on publishers and Japanese online stores. If you have a problem with that, then you can talk with either the publisher or those oline stores, and try to convinve them otherwise. I never said that light novels are targeted at children, I said that they are targeted at teenagers and above. Can you link me to where I said that light novels are aimed at children? --ChuChu (talk) 08:17, 11 February 2008 (UTC)

Yukji Yakumo

Yukiji appears in H2O's sequel: √after and another. Speaking of the sequel I think it should be added to H2O page. And maybe Sakura no Uta since it's related to √after and another. Think I should do it? (75.157.161.252 (talk) 06:08, 17 February 2008 (UTC))

I guess I'll do that on my friend's wiki acc but I don't have enough information. Care to lend a hand?(75.157.161.252 (talk) 08:40, 17 February 2008 (UTC))
Mmm translate what's on the website I guess, or just a subsection at the end of the H2O article but you probably won't like it.(75.157.161.252 (talk) 12:01, 17 February 2008 (UTC))

Elfen Lied/List of EL episodes/List of EL characters for Peer Review &FA nomination - I've been working

I've been working quite a bit on improving Elfen Lied and its associated lists for a while so that it can be put up for Peer Review or FA/FL nomination some time in the future, and I was wondering what you think. I'm hoping to get more details on themes and reception as well as exted episode summaries and character lists, and I think it might be ready. BTW, what's this about secondary human characters not being necessary to include in the list on the base page? ætərnal ðrAعon 07:06, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Hey thanks for the advice. I have been looking at other FAs within the scope of WP:ANIME - one of the major ways in which I'm expanding it is by using Madlax as a "model" to improve it. However, most of the sections that are quite thick in the Madlax article which are thin in the EL article all come from one website. Often, other users will tag parts that I add saying they lack references but really I grab whole sections from single pages. That said by using Madlax as a model, why I've been re-adding bios of Mayu and Kurama into the main article. ætərnal ðrAعon 07:29, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Okay then, I've done some cleanup on the plot section as well as the reception section for now. I intend to add a "Production" section which features the crew of the series within the "Anime" section soon. For now, I think we can get the list of episodes to FL status quite soon if we simply etxend the espisode summaries - what I've been doing. I used List of FLCL episodes as a model for that. ætərnal ðrAعon 08:12, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Template:User WP Key

A tag has been placed on Template:User WP Key requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Figures

Since you've been fixing up some grammar and structure right after I contribute to the article after I've added new informations, I just wanted to ask you.. may I add figures under media section of Hayate the Combat Butler? I've checked other anime articles but haven't seen figure sections on them so I was just wondering..

So far, they are going to release these two figures, with the third one later on: Maria's figure:AmiAmi Product Page Hinagiku's figure: JunPlanning Product Page --staka 23:18, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Line spacing

May I ask why you are removing the line spacing between the template's parameters? This appears to be pointless edits. --Farix (Talk) 23:21, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

I only added the line spacing because the template can become hard to read and modify when there is more then one parameter. --Farix (Talk) 23:45, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
