Thanks for uploading Image:Yakusoku Clannad album cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. Fair use rationale for Image:AnimeSuki logo.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:AnimeSuki logo.JPG. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 04:26, 21 May 2008 (UTC)

Adminship

Hey. I asked you if you wanted to be an admin back in August, and you declined. I'm just checking in to see if your view on whether you think you would be ready for it has changed. Wizardman 21:52, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Well, basically it depends on whether you would plan to be an admin who sticks to something specific. Basically, a read through this: Wikipedia:Administrators' reading list should help with what is expected of an admin. Since you're mainly an article writer, AfD would probably be something you would want to participate in more before i nominate you, to understand how that area works (we can always use admins to close discusions there). If you have any other questions let me know. Wizardman 22:21, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Wolf's Rain and image placement

I undid your moving of the soundtrack image in Wolf's Rain. You edit summary said: "MOS concern; when lefting images, they have to go above 3-level or lower headers, not below.' Can you point out where it states this in the MoS? -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 23:37, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

List of Tokyo Mew Mew characters

Please explain your edit summary of "Clearly fails WP:FUC for low-res images (although it should probably still be smaller than 300px)". FUC generally notes the smallest dimension should be 300px, or the smallest size that still allows for the image to be clear. Resizing that particular image down to 300 pixels tall would make the characters too difficult to distinguish. As for its size in the article, that has nothing at all to do with WP:FUC. And please answer here, as I like to keep conversations together :P -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 02:19, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

At WP:FUC it states: Low- rather than high-resolution/fidelity/bit rate is used (especially where the original could be used for deliberate copyright infringement). This rule also applies to the copy in the Image: namespace. I believe 400px is much too high a resolution for that image, and when I came to the article my immediate impression was the it was very obstructive. The point is that it needs to be at a lower resolution, or it fails fair-use under WP:FUC. And I do not believe 300px makes the characters indistinguishable in the least. This also applies to the exceptionally large image down below.-- 02:27, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
(edit conflict) It is very low resolution compared to the original, which is a full size poster (thousands of pixels wide). For the size in the article, it was sized to fill up the white space beside the menu, something done in a few other character articles since we only get 1-3 group images anyway. I tend to be a fair use fanatic and will often resize other FU images to get them down to size. I do not believe it fails fair use. I believe it continues to meet the policy guidelines, which apply only to the image in the name space, not to what size its used at in the article itself (that would just be the image placement guideline). However, if you strongly feel it does, I will go ahead and resize the uploaded image down another notch. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 02:34, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
FOr the image below, you mean the black and white one? It very clearly meets FUR, which also states that the smallest dimension should be 300px. That image is 300 x 485. It can not go any smaller without making it impossible to distinguish Duke in the back. He's already hard to see as it is. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 02:35, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
The policy I quotes above says lower res is used in the image space and article space, so it doesn't only apply to what is used in the image space, as you just tried to say above. I also realize that the black/white image is under 300px width, but it's still very large due to it's length. I'm willing to bring up the issue at WP:RFC in order to get clarification, and see if anyone else agrees with me.-- 02:39, 25 May 2008 (UTC)
Yes, please do so, as I feel that it clearly meets the requirements. It doesn't just illustrate the group, but also is necessary to be clear enough to show Duke's outfit, as its resemblance to the KKK outfit is specifically discussed in the text and an illustration to show this is relevant. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 02:41, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Katsuhito Nomura

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Katsuhito Nomura, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Mizu onna sango15/珊瑚15 06:39, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Adding categories to redirects

Interesting, so there's a standard/guideline somewhere that states that the categories should be at the redirect page instead of the redirected page? That's very odd in my opinion, but anyway... --Remy Suen (talk) 11:36, 28 May 2008 (UTC)

Care to offer any views in this mess? I'm getting rather frustrated by the resident editors responses and am tempted to just let the article sink and delist it in two weeks as noted, since they don't seem to be inclined to actually address the issues. Think they have any valid points on the images, Diclonus section, etc? Do I? :P -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 03:45, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Tokyo Mew Mew

Any particular reason you think its very doubtful CD Japan will get an article? It, and its parent Neowing, certainly seem to meet the relevant notability requirements.-- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 07:02, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Were you planning on creating articles for Neowing and CD Japan? Why is CD Japan notable enough for an article (and who would even be motivated enough to write one?). From what I've found, almost no one writes articles for companies or establishments, especially if they're relatively unknown.-- 07:11, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
No, but that doesn't mean it will never be created. :P CDJapan/Neowing is a widely used exporter of Japanese CDs and would seem to meet the business notability requirements. True on companies...most people only make a company article to complain or advertise it. We have some, though, and slowly cleaning them up. No real reason they shouldn't be able to be brought up to GA, but that's another whole issue (not added by the lack of a clear editing guideline) :P Anyway, I'm just saying I would think Neowing, like AnimeOnDVD.com, could eventually get an article and was curious as to why you disagreed. I'm not going to undo your delinking. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 07:18, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
I'll be honest, I never even heard of Neowing until I came to Wiki and a lot of the time when I would do media research for a series, I would get at least one link by Neowing or CD Japan (I've used both as cites in articles before mind). But, the chances are still very low, especially for something like AnimeOnDVD since you already have to have an air of caution for websites per WP:WEB. Plus, Wikipedians are deplorable for companies as I've said. Seriously, I created Ichijinsha this year, and only out of pity since I got sick and tired of always seeing it redlinked. I've done others, but that was the most recent example. And I've been creating company articles since I've been on Wiki. Prominent companies that never got articles before I took the time include several animation studios (Feel (studio), Ufotable, Studio Hibari, Shaft (company), etc.), very prominent publishers (Frontier Works, Lantis (company), etc.), and many game-related companies (Visual Art's, 07th Expansion, Marvelous Interactive, etc.). Very few people care to make articles about companies or magazines, which often leaves needless redlinks which could otherwise be a very passive ao (? blue).-- 07:32, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
I've used both as well, though they really are technically the same company :P AoD is pretty easy to establish notability, its got industry support, just hard to find much history on it. One of those "one day" articles. Beez Entertainment is my one company creation, though also contemplating Public Square Books. I think maybe part of it is that with companies, you have similar requirements to biographies, but likely the larger part is our greater portion of editors, unfortunately, prefer to write about plot and characters and other fictional elements than the real-world stuff. :( -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 07:43, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Elfen Lied

It's been three months since I've started working to upgrade it to an FA, with plot extensions, finding references and cleanup, but it seems like this user Collectonian has begun to disrupt us with her own personal interpretations on teh Manual of Style. Her interpretation has conflicted with my model for cleaning it up based on the Manual of Style, and she continually acts like she's the boss on this issue. User:Kraftlos has also been working with me, we both agree that this behaviour is being disruptive. We attempted to reach a conclusion that goes both ways, so I made some modifications to her revision; but she keeps insisting. My last edit involved making the plot summary more succinct and adding details on production and themes with more inline citations based on the Manual of Style, but it doesn't translate to her. Please offer your views on this one... ætərnal ðrAعon 07:48, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Katsuhito Nomura

A tag has been placed on Katsuhito Nomura requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

Yeah, I find it hard to talk back and forth through edit summaries when I basicly can't find anything to edit (I can't play the demo right now as it's going to be absolutely ugly with all the friends and relatives around). So uhh, from what I can gather, Takahiro didn't actually collide directly onto Honoka, but instead he went flying after hitting the brakes I think , and crashed onto her, injuring her leg, helps pick up her groceries and then takes her home after seeing her puppy eyes. That's from what I can gather at least, don't know if it really helps. -- クラウド668 02:57, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

I am wondering if you could find another word to describe Honoka. After replaying that scene where she meets Takahiro, I think that she's not as soft-spoken as Nagisa is, while at the same time not as energetic and lively as Ayu is. -- クラウド668 22:44, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
Actually I think I am just gonna call her lively, that seems to fit her more and given all she wants is to play when they meet during day 6. -- クラウド668 22:57, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
