[edit] An overhaul

While the former page was well-written, it was problematic on several points. A translation of an extensive Spanish wikipedia article, it offered details for which I could find no corroboration, other than the hard to read newspaper article preserved as a pdf document on that page. I have tried to suggest the range of conflicting versions, without making it too Rashomon-like.

If you choose to revert or to reinsert details from that version, please provide some authority, even if it is not conclusive. In addition, we may need to disambiguate the name, since there are other Juan Soldados and a place in Chile by that name. --24.126.41.116 08:41, 5 May 2005 (UTC) aka User:Italo Svevo

Cita; A translation of an extensive Spanish wikipedia article, it offered details for which I could find no corroboration, Ooopppsss.

[edit] Not a real Mexican saint

This is a folk saint with no official recognition from any church. I don't think it should be categorized under Mexican saints (unless someone wishes to start a folk saints category). I am removing the category now. --Merkurix 16:31, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

Done. The category article has now been changed added to a new folk saints category.--Merkurix 16:59, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
