Can somebody break this article into several sections, to make for easier reading?
[edit] Everton
Strong rumours he will move there if not in Jan in the summer in the britsh press. Should this be on the main page?
REPLY - Yes it should, he will be joining them in the Summer for a reported £8million.
- No. These are unsubstantiated rumours. On July 16, 2007 User:Hudders2000 restored his comment on a possible move to Everton and referenced this [article] as proof. If you read the article you'll see that it says noting of the kind, but instead it is said in readers comments section. Certainly a magazine reader's opinion is not a valid source. [edit] Table of goals
Is it really redundant to have a table of goals per season?
The current scheme has only goals per team, so if the player stays 3 seasons in one team we know how many matches and goals he had in those 3 years, but not for the season specifically.
Options are:
- Keep both (table, and infobox)
- Put the data in the info-box season by season
- loose the data and have lees information.

Is it ok if I go with 3? Is it really that relevant? --Sebastian Kessel Talk 15:55, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
[edit] National team
Roman's first match in the national team wasn't in 2004, but in 1999. May be in the American cup, or before, but not in 2004. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Fran loyd (talk • contribs) 14 January 2006, 22:52.
[edit] Romy, Roman, Riquelme
Can we use 'Riquelme' instead of 'Romy' and 'Riquelme'? It's inconsistent. Maybe add a "He's affectionately known as Romy" etc. And any idea why/when he changed from putting 'Riquelme' to 'Roman' on his jersey? And is it important enough to reflect that on the page?
I don't think it's relevant. He was known as "Roman" because he was frequently mentioned as Juan ROMAN Riquelme by commentators with "Roman" very emphasized. --200.82.107.250 (talk) 15:03, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] POV
The paragraph on unfair pressure on him to perform leading to the loan move sound rather POV. I edited it slightly to get rid of that. But I don't really have the facts leading to the move. Is it poor form, inability to fit into tactical system, too many players who can play in the same position etc?
I have also had to edit some of the obvious POV in this article, most blatant bit was where it said the main reason Argentina became joint favourites in the World cup 2006 was because of Riquelme Mr. mister 16:07, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Boca Loan
Can somebody add his Boca Loan info.. Good info on his fall from grace here..
The end is nigh for a player unable to cross great divide
[edit] Club signing speculation
Can we stop the speculation on where, when and if he will sign with another club?
In the last few days there has been a flood of speculative posts that he'll sign for Everton and Atlético Madrid to name two. Why don't we wait until he actually signs something? This is an encyclopedia, not a sports magazine. See: WP:NOT#CBALL Alexf(t/c) 12:15, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. eae 23:22, 15 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Semi-protect?
Does it make sense to semi-protect this article until the Everton/Atletico/whoever nonsense dies down and/or Riquelme officially signs with a club and that info can be verified? eae 19:48, 16 July 2007 (UTC)
- I think it is warranted. Alexf(t/c) 14:06, 17 July 2007 (UTC)
- D-U-N done. eae 21:36, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

- I semi-protected the page for two weeks. If any of the signing rumors turn out to be true before then please remind me to remove it. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 07:35, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
